Default ATTN: Sidemarker owners...

I just got JDM sidemarkers in the mail today and thought of a possible problem. I noticed that there is no weather sealing around the edges... First of all, is this normal? I'm not missing anything, right? Second, has anyone had any problems with water getting in behind the markers and causing rust or other damage? I live in Oregon after all, and it rains here sometimes... I think I'd like to ghetto-fab some kind of weather stripping in either case. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Nate

PS: I hope this is the right forum...

if u have to cut the holes for the sidemarkers, make sure u apply some sort of paint around the cut edges so it wont rust. they dont have gaskets and ive never had any problems with water

I'll just paint around the edges of the cut with touch up paint then... Maybe I'll ghetto fix a seal if it ever needs it. Thanks

I actually installed JDM sidemarkers on the fenders that I installed on my car 6 months ago, and I was too lazy to use any touchup paint because the car would be getting painted anyway. Just the other day I took one of them out, no signs of rust whatsoever.

OEM JDM sidemarkers have no rubber on them.

You have a real EG6? As in RHD, B16, SiR?

it's been covered many times, search for "sidemarker" in both the integra and appearance forums, in the archive posts.
