Do you have plans for dyno tuning with the new header? Hope you get all the gains you wanted. AC still works with Prospeed?

are you going to address the lean condition that happened on shakes and Junbb1's cars when they installed their headers? Do you have an adjustable fpr or a way to adjust your fuel pressure?

worst thing to do is get too excited and mess up your car

search for doug and blake's "prospeed header installed thread". From what i remeber of blakes post, it leaned it out a considerable amount. I would definetly send blake an im to discuss it.

A friend happend to send me the link to this post and I just got off the phone with Brian, so i called him back and asked him.

With any big mod you do to any car to gain maximum HP, the car must be tuned. Can't just throw on cams or in this case Brian's Prospeed header and expect the car to make max power with it. Its not a DC header where you can throw it on and see the 5HP . A FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator) is reccomended because the Prospeed header flows soo much better, it will lean out slightly. With an engine management system you can control this or with a stock ecu use a FPR. if you don't, its not a big deal but only for a short time until its neccessary to do so.

What is reccomended is to head to the dyno with your new Prospeed header and a FPR and make some power!
(hit up '@ries' the best of the best on the dyno)

-AMS MIKE

P.S. its Header, not headers........unless you have some crazy Quad Cam Vtec H22 with dual headerS

yes i changed that in the thread when i first posted it, but if you have ever tried to change a title after you have posted it doesnt work to well does it ?

I am currently waiting ony my jun head installation and then im heading to the dyno. i dont want to put the header on, dyno, put the head on, then go dyno again. i was simply asking if it will do damage to my motor for a short period of time. (about a week or so) I waited a long time for this, just dont want to make any hasty mistakes.

i agree. especially if you are going to put a JUN header on there which will greatly lean it out alone.

my plugs were black as night before the header. after 5 miles of driving with it they were pitted white all over. (search my topic that's called something like Code 61, it has pictures of the plugs.)
also my primary o2 sensor is trashed now or is at least throwing a code for it. i believe it is doing that due to the lean condition.
my car is being driven about twice a week by my roomate (im out to sea) and he is having no problems with it. but that is also 93 octane where you are on 91.

my vote,

get your hondata
your header
your jun head

install and go straight to the dyno and dont leave till its perfect.

Shakes is right. Hondata will be the best way to go if you want to maximize your gains. Luckly you already purchased the Hondata system! 98typeSh whenever you have the time post some pics of your stainless version header! Im planning on posting some new pics of the header as will as installed pics. AMS and Es Squared both of your headers will be done soon.

a little off topic, but with my smsp header on my 5th gen sh and stock ecu my car went waayyy rich, why would they have the opposite effect, i have an apexi auto timer with a/f ratio readout, and anything over half throttle it goes straight to 10/1 or less , with or without the cel on for running too rich????

That is one fine looking header, would be interested in the Dyno results when it's fitted, I can see why they cost so much now, time, effort and craftsmanship.
