Default possessed brake light? wtf help me

okok sometimes my break light stays on after i start up my car and put the ebrake down and start driving. i fiddeled with the ebrake and pushed it down but that doesnt do anything. the only thing that turns it off is putting my foot down on the real break- but then the light turns back on when i accelerate. the light eventually turns off after about 10min of driving. is this bad or should i just ignore it??

Could be low brake fluid..There is a sensor in the master cylinder and it uses the same light on the dash as the ebrake...

most likely what prodigalson said. I've had it happen to my own car and found in my friends cars as well. However, one thing to consider is the fact that when ur brake pads get way worn down, that will also cause fluid level in the reservoir to be low. So while you're at it... check ur brake pads to see if they need replacing and then you can solve the problem from its real source rather than just top off. And i'm sure if ur pads are in need of replacement, many here will recommend you might as well flush n replace brake fluid while your at it.

yep, same thing happened with my car a while ago. Except mine was a bit different, the mechanic said my fluid was fine, so we closed the cap and the light went away. Turns out we just needed to tighten the cap down more than it was...so if you're fluids are not too low, make sure the cap is tight
