Default 89 prelude si FINAL PLEA

Here is the situation: #1--i have a prelude that will not start. IT is NOT the battery. The dash lights and radio all work when key is in start position. Also, the starter is good--I had that tested yesterday. #2-- I replaced inhibitor switch and the car will still not start. Someone told me that they had a similar problem and that the contacts on the ignition were not getting good connection. My question is could this cause the car not to start because from my point of view, it acted just like the inhibitor switch. If anyone can lend any help, it would be SOOO appreciated. I am at the end of my rope. Thanks

Cleaning them couldnt hurt, Ive had a loose connection before on one of my
terminals and it was causing my car not to start. Good luck finding the problem.

Have you checked for functioning fuel pump? Proper Fuel Pressure? Are you getting spark. A starter and battery are the obvious stuff. Don't get too fustrated. Also, check the main relay. That damn thing goes bad in old cars, and can affect both fuel and spark.

How do you go about hotwiring the car?
Can you try that? That would point to the ignition.

Check for spark, check for fuel. Didn't you say before that your brake lights also came on when you put the key in ON ?

That could be so many things so you'll have to do lots of checking. i've had that happen to some of the cars me or my friends have had and it's almost always been something little that we easily looked over. I'm sure you've tried it...but if not, spend lots of time ENSURING everything is plugged in under the hood. sometimes the clips can come undone and look fastend...but not be. One time my distributer was just baretly unplugged and it took forever to figure it out. maybe go through everything clean some connections and makesure you get them back tight...you never know. If it's a stick, you could try and push start it. Maybe that would help you locate your problem being electrical or something else? not sure...but worth a try
