Options in working with a k24a block? 2.7L? destroke? Who is doing it?
Hello,
I read a couple months ago about someone in California that is making k24a into a 2.7L. Also does anyone know who has destroked a k24a to 2.2L?
Whatever info you have on these two options, let me know...
TIA,
Nikos

i Heard to get the 2.2 you need to get the new 2004 s2000 crank. I asked around on the old threads, but no one really replied.

Yes, of course ... Crazy..
With some luck I might see it in action this coming weekend in NOPI MD.

I heard that "technically" can be done...but as for how well it actually works???? I heard there have been some fitment issues that can lead to reliability issues...in other words - its tough to get a '04 S2K crank to fit perfectly in order to run at 9000+ rpms all day
http://www.importbuilders.com was supposedly working on a couple destroked k24's i believe
Ht member C-Zero was working on a 2.6L i believe see here https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=800288 (oops - saw Nikos knew about that one already
)
Skunk2 civic RR (k20/24) old news 215 whp & ~170 lb/ft maybe 6 months ago *shrugs*
http://www.superstreetonline.c...civic/ (dyno inside) <---- whats up with this car now...my guess is the motor didn't last
on another board Brian G stated the k24/20 hybrid MAY have some issues with vlave to piston contact
something to be weary of - if someone hear decides to just bolt up a RSX-S head to a k24 block
