Default swap's done, car won't start (searched)

ok i know this is one of those threads that happens once a day but im at a loss.

b18a1 with ys1 tranny into a 89 crx hf.
ive wired everything correctly (checked and double checked) including grounds.
im getting spark (just changed spark plugs AND checked for spark)
im getting fuel (i smell it-dunno if thats good or bad )

my car turns over well then tries to start, almost does, then goes back to cranking. is my firing order wrong? is it something more simple/complex than that?

oh and this engine came out of a running ls (i saw it start up; right away) and no upgrade except jdm gsr intake mani/cai...

TIA.

check your firing order, also check to make sure the starter is hooked up properly and that its grounded properly.

code 10. intake air temperature sensor.

ok so i went and checked and its not plugged in but theres also not a lose plug to hook up to it? should i just run a new wire? what kind of plug should i use and where can i get it?

TIA

Modified by 5litereater at 4:22 PM 6/23/2004

edit* if i have to add wires for the sensor, do i run the wires to the ecu or off of any part of the wiring harness? thanks

i'd say that code 10 would have nothing to do with it not cranking up...i could be way off...but are you using the injectors from the fuel rail on the GSR? dont you have to use obd0 injectors?

i'd say the timing should be straight as long as you didnt mess with it, i mean if it was fine in the other car..why would it be different now?

did you replace the plugs with the exact part # for the b18a? im told it could really mess your motor up if you have the wrong gap in there.

injectors and fuel rail are from the b18a1. as for the plugs they are the exact part number. and it cranks, sounds likeit starts , then dies. it makes no sense. and should i smell fuel?

thanks

GSR intake on a B18A1... EGAD. I have one of those Nextgear intake thermal isolators that fits a GSR... IT DON'T FIT MY B18A1!!! Is this why you smell gas? Look for leaks around the head where the intake manifold mates up. How did you even make it fit? We need some more information on this one. Something is amiss here...
