Vss Sensor????
I have a big problem every time I decelerate my motor, the engine light turns on, i took a look at the ECU and it "blink" 17 times, so gues its the VSS Sensor, but i can´t manage to find it anywere :-/
Any one who can explane the location of the vss sensor to me og even better show me some pics.
The car i´m talking about is an CRX year 90 with a ZC engine.

Does your speedometer work?
IF it does, then run a wire srtaight from the VSS to the correct location on the ECU and see if that solves it. Maybe you have a wire break or a bad connection in the wire someplace.

that's it. goes into tranny right by the mount. there's a clip that is screwed to the trannny casing that holds it in.

"its the cable that goes through the firewall at an angle, and into your tranny"
Wrong
"that's it. goes into tranny right by the mount. there's a clip that is screwed to the trannny casing that holds it in."
Wrong
"it sits on top of the tranny, not on the guage cluster"
Wrong
The VSS is mounted on the back of the speedo.
Run a wire from it direct to the ECU or get a book and properly test that thing.
The cable is the cable drive.
The thing in the tranny is the gear drive for the cable drive.
Now - check my sig and lets all get iPODS!!!

Okay so its in the cluster were the cable comes in and clicks on, I´ve changed it all but it dos´nt seem too have any affect at all, I still get the error 17 on my ECU, and the yellow warning blink turns on when I decelarate.
I´m soo f..... mad about this s... but ill chek it again some time in the weekend.

I wonder why this is such a common problem in rex's with ZC swaps. I too have this stupid problem and as of lately I am driving spedometer-less.. 1 ticket so far *45 in a 25 * lets see how many more until I decide to fix it. And yes, the VSS is NOT your SPEDOMETER CABLE.. The spedo cable is a mechanical line, there is nothing electronical about it which would make you throw a CEL. - Darrell
