Default H22A in an EG civic

Hi guys.. I'm posting this for a friend..

Basically my friend is able to buy a whole prelude for a cheaper price than the engine alone. The only thing is that the prelude is an automatic. He has a D15b engine and he was wondering if it was possible for him to bolt the D15b transmission on to the H22 block.

I'm guessing not. And also will he need a complete new clutch kit, flywheel?

Last question, will he be able to use the ecu and wiring loom from the auto?

Thanks for all your replies.

No, you cant bolt an H series motor to a D series transmission. He will have to find a manual tranny as well as a manual ECU. Do a search on here and youll get all your answers. The reason he is paying less for the whole prelude instead of just the engine is cus its automatic. Japan star has a JDM GSR front clip for $2100. Why the low price? Its automatic.

I thought a user here on H-T by the name of Bisimoto fabricated an adapter plate that mounted a f series motor to a d series trans. And since h and f series trans can be swapped then that would make his plate able to be mounted to a hseries motor. Correct?

edit:
Also, here is probably the best thread for info on the H22 into a Civic.
