Default Powerplant ECU/Computer

Ok people here's my problem.

The Australian Type R is detuned compared with the Japanese domestic version. The 2.0 litre four cylinder i-VTEC engine fitted to our Type R produces 147 kW; the Japanese market powerplant delivers 162 kW. Honda Australia says the limited availability of 98 octane unleaded, which the 162 kW engine requires as a minimum to run properly and reliably, means it had to choose the lower powered version for our market, where 95-96 octane premium unleaded is more widely, but still far from universally, available.

However i purchase what we call Shell Optimax or BP Ultimate, which is 98 octane fuel, and you can always buy octane boost in a bottle if you do purchase **** quality petrol, so it's just a decrease in performance to the car for no reason. I would like to know how i can get my 2004 Type R (Also known as an Acura RSX Type S) to deliver 162kW instead of 147kW. Do i need to purchase a new computer and if so does anyone know where i can get it?

Thanks

Hi...
The people in this forum mainly drive DC2Rs (the old one)

Go to this forum instead:
It's an Australian (regional) - DC5R forum.

Anyway... the engine is actually a Type S engine... It's not really a down-tuned Japanese DC5R engine. It's different.... (it's like a VTIR of the DC2, or GSR they call it in the US)

Hey Battie, there are more differences than the ECU alone. I believe the camshafts are different and the pistons are different (lower compression). I'm sure there are more differences.
