Ran my b16a CRX vs. friends 97 CX hatch, with new b16a2
So yea, first of all i'll tell the set ups.

ITR - IM, TB, Pistons

Bone stock otherwise.
So my buddy with his hatchback finally got the swap done. He's not using the proper ECU, or wiring harness for now because he is too poor

So on to the problem...He decided to race me, even though his speedo/tach doesnt work, and he claims he's "not running like a true SI". So i decided, whatever, we're homeboys and it's just for fun.
Well we ran heads up, a friend of mine flagged. For the sake of arguing, we are both good drivers, dont miss shifts, and shift fast. I revved to 4k, dropped the clutch as soon as our flagger waved go, good start, a little traction loss, but VTEC engaged ASAP. I was surprised that we were pretty much dead even throughout the whole race though...Especially with my mods.
I was thinking, it's a tuning factor, since my engine is old..And his is a 2000, but i didnt think it'd be so close like that. If i were to make any mistakes, he'd easily take the win. Bleh, it makes me think there's something wrong with my B16A, anyone else have input on B16A vs B16A2?

well according to ur mods list u have itr pistons in ur b16.
that means that u have lower compression then a stock b16, which is bad. are u sure about that mod?
with lowered compression ur gonna be losing a serious amount of hp which is why another b16, 2nd gen or otherwise, should walk all over you. the only reason why u won was bc u weigh a lot less then the hatch.
furthermore, once ur friend gets the proper ecu and all the kinks ironed out of his swap, hell probably beat u.
get the stock pistons back into ur b16, or some p30's. thatll up ur compression a lil over stock and help u get that lost hp back.

yeah, im positive about the ITR pistons. I heard they were bad because they RAISED compression...Either way, I think im gonna get some stock ones. I raced my friend with another b16a crx SI, same mods except, pistons, IM, TB. And i had him by a fender or so...

yup, USDM or JDM ITR pistons LOWER compression...

CTR pistons bump it a little, but not much.
swap cams, more of a change with that then a piston swap.
