Default Do I have a EGR valve?

Ok so i took my car in for inspection today and my car failed the Nox BAD like almost 2 times the limit. They said to replace my EGR valve, but however I can't find it. Like it is supposed to be located by the intake manifold according to my Haynes manuel. But i can't find it. I have a 92 SI hatchback with the stock D16Z6. Am i supposed to have this valve or what? Someone help me please..

If i don't have a EGR valve than do you know what could be causing my nox level to be so high?

I thought only OBD2 96+ cars had an EGR system, but I could be very easily wrong. The EGR system only flows tiny tiny tiny amounts of exhaust gas back into the intake at certain times (depending on if you are full load, wot, rpms, etc). If you're spitting out too much NOx then that should be because of your cat, right?

what's every1 else think

I see, thanx for the information. Tommorow I am going to go up to jiffy Lube and tell them to find my EGR valve hahaha. I told them I didn't have one. I wanna see those idiots look for it. HAHAHA I heard that it was because of the CAT. So 'll just get a new one i guess.

Oh I also forgot to ask, I heard that my co and nox levels can be messed up because my timing could be off. Is this possible?

Not on that generation -

Nox can be bad due to poor ignition timing - or your cat is going bad...

Wow, there is no smog down here in South Texas. I believe only the VX models have an EGR valve as stated above.

And possibly a vacuum leak - allowing excess air into the intake system..

PCV valve

Old spark plugs...
