Default obd2 distributor compatibility

If converting obd0-obd1, can I use an obd2 distributor? I believe the car has the y8 w/ an obd2 dizzy in it now, but at the moment the car is still obd0 (no vtec as of right now.)

Im getting extremely confused as to how the conversion is gonna work in regards to the parts required.

Ive got a p28 ecu on the way, as well as the obd0-1 conversion harness.

Let me give you exactly whats been done.

a6 removed, y8 installed.
Using existing SI intake manifold/exhaust manifold/wiring harness/ecu (89 crx si)

Like I said above, the p28 ecu and the jumper harness are on the way.

Do I need to change out the obd2 dizzy for an obd1?
Do I need to change the stock SI intake manifold for the y8, or can I still run obd1 w/ the stock SI injectors and manifold?

You can run the obd-2 dizzy. Obd-1 and 2 dizzys are the same except for, in most cases i think, there is just 1 plug instead of 2 that connect to the engine harness. You can also keep the Si IM and injectors, but be sure u retain the resisitor box if u do so. If u have obd-1 or 2 injectors, you dont need to run the resistor box.

Perfect, thanks for the reply.

So I will keep the obd2 dizzy in there as well as the stock I/M and injectors.

So now technically all I need to do is plug in the conversion harness and ecu. Then run the extra 4 wires for the vtec correct?
At the vtec solenoid, there is 2 plugs. 1 right off of it (gray) w/ 1 wire which I believe is green w/ a yellow stripe.

Now right below the solenoid is a green plug w/ nothing plugged into it. What is this used for?

Also needed is a 4 wire o2 right?

Nothing else needs to be touched?

BTW, I will post some pics tomorrow of the areas in question, if that helps at all. Thanks again.

3 wires for VTEC isn't it?

Yes you need a 4 wire O2 sensor.

Could be 3, I might be wrong on the 4.

The main engine harness plugs next to the fusebox looks like it has had a couple of wiring changes. Im not sure why, but a couple of wires looks like they were soldered to something other than stock. Any idea why this would have been done?

Originally the car had the a6, then a z6 (no vtec activation as far as i know), now i put the y8 in.
