Default tranny pick

hi i am about to have a boosted ls and i was wondering what tranny should i go with. My tranny's syncro's are grinding bad in second, third, and sometimes fourth so i am wondering if i should find another ls, gsr, type R, b16 tranny to go with the ls engine

If money isn't an object, then a Type R tranny is definately the way to go.

A lot of people will argue that having longer gear ratios will benefit acceleration by keeping the engine in boost longer, however shorter ratios will allow the engine to rev quicker and maintain higher RPM's after a shift. If it were me, I'd look for a B16 tranny.

The best gearing and best acceleration will come with a ITR/B16 tranny. However, if your into a lot of highway driving be prepared to be at high rpms at just 65-70mphs. I delt with it for a while, I had a 4.785 FD ITR tranny setup, the gearing was great and acceleration was awesome, but the highway driving sucked and driving around town in 5th gear going 35mph just wasn't my chunk of pie.

I went turbo and swapped out my ITR tranny for a GSR tranny. Which most will say is the ideal tranny for boost. Its got great gearing and its also got long enough gears where you are able to cruise at lower rpms. I've had both, and I say GSR tranny the whole way, without a doubt.

Stay away from the LS tranny. Very long gears. Unless your making some serious power, then this would be your worst option.

GSR tranny is cheaper and I think the better alternative. If your really into it and you don't highway cruise or mind being at high rpms while cruising and you want the best possible acceleration then yes the ITR/B16 tranny is the way to go. ITR tranny will run you quite a bit of bills....
