Default 98 prelude auto-tiptronic tranny acting up...

my tranny is acting up now, what would be the problem? I already change oil twice and still not shifting. please help me. thanks

Yeah dude, 5 speed conversion is what you need to do at this point.

Because on average:

* replace transmission: labor ($200)
* replace with new transmission: parts ($3000)
* downtime on this: one day to 3 days or more

doing a 5 speed:

Here is the list:

* used h22 trans ($700 on average), f22 ($300 on average), h23 ($300 on average).
* replacing and adding parts to do a 5 speed on an auto: parts ($1300 on average)
* ecu reflashing, red key: parts and labor ($300 on average)

So with this, you do the math, this is average.

yeah replaceing your tranny is only a temporary fix it will just die again... If you have the money might as well do a swap.

^^^^^^^^^^ right on about those prices for the swap that almost exactly what im going to end up paying when i get all my parts...

thing is, I am selling the car very soon, so i dont wanna to spend more money on it. is there other way?

Nah, at this point if the tranny goes I'll probably just do a manual swap. I'm trying really hard to break it, I swear.
