I mean the light on the ECU. it should have one the pr3 is Obd-0 so it should have a light somewere on it. Check to make sure it gives one flash when the key is turned on.

What a coincedence im having that exact same problem. Just swapped a JDM B16 in a 89 crx si. We turn the key the motor cranks but it doesn't start like it's not getting fuel or something. I know it not the Ecu so you can rule that out, because we tried the PR3 and the stock cpu same result. We checked the spark plugs their fine. We checked the spark plug wires and made sure they we connected to the distibutor correctly. We using the stock wire harness and all of the plugs are plugged in. We can't figure this out. I hope someone here has the answer.
Check for spark, the plugs and wires may be fine but the dizzy could be bad. As for the first question if the car is not cranking it could be a dead battery, the lead from the starter to the fuse box is disconnected, or the lead from the harness to the starter solenoid is disconnected.
ok so you hooked up a converted harness BUT did you add all the pins into the ecu you need? did you convert it do MPFI? did you ground the one wire thaat needs to be grounded when you did the mpfi?
ive learned the long and hard way that there is alot of **** to do do make a dohc vtec run in a dpfi car

Yeah the appropriate wires where added, and i did hook up the ground, Ill re inspect everyhting in the morning maybe something came loose, when we dropped the engine in., , I know the battery isnt dead cause we tested it.

you did the manual conversion also at the time of the swap? look into the nuetral safety switch, that will make the motor not crank. wat you can do to check is to run positive batery voltage to the starter directly and see if it cranks the car.

I had a problem very similar to this with an '86 Prelude. I could only put on the lights and blinkers but couldn't get the car to start. Turned out to be the engine fuse was blown and as soon as it was replaced the car fired right up. Might not be that but always worth a check...

Guys,
He bought the harness from me and I went to do the wiring yesterday.
It was simple, I took it out of my car which also was a DX, labeled everything, hooked it up in his.
The problem is not that it won't start. the ECU light does not flash, there are no lights that come up on the cluster at all either, no fuel pump noise when we initially turn the key...nothing.
WE know the battery works, all the fuses are fine, all of them are getting power, the battery is good but when we put the key to the "ON" position, nothing at all happens. Usually all the dash lights come on and then some turn off and ****...but this is not doing anything at all....
So I was thinking bad ECU?
I was planning on bring my DX ECU over tonight just to see if it would make a difference and at least get something light up in the cluster.
Also all the grounds are hooked up from the battery to the tranny, the one on the harness to the thermo housing, the one on the head to the drivers headlight.
I'm not sure what you mean the ground from the MPFI swap but that is not the issue as nothing is working at all as I mentioned above.

Yup did that also after the first time in didint start,, still same result, Im gunna recheck everyhting now.
Ps. One of you guys said theres a light on the ecu thats suppose to come on??Can u explain a bit more about that?
Thanks for all the replies so far.

Mark,
You see in the middle of the ECU, towards the bottom.... there is like a round window? That is what they mean. Usually when you turn the key, this light would flash meaning the ECU is "on" (I assume) That is also the light that flashes when you have CEL's.
Either way, none of that is happening.
