04 honda vs earlier years

I was just curious, honda's thinking on the 04 civic ex coupe. My buddy at work has a 93 civic that has rear disc brakes but on my 04 civic ex it has rear drum, is honda trying to cut cost or what? From what i was told the new civics would all be rear drum.

- 92-95 Civic Si (NON-ABS) has front and rear disc brakes.

- 94-95 Civic Si (ABS optional) has front and rear disc brakes.

- 94-95 Civic EX Coupe with ABS (optional) has front and rear disc brakes.

- 92-95 Civic EX Sedan with ABS (standard) has front and rear discs.

Civic EX's w/ Drums:
- 93-95 Civic EX Coupe (NON-ABS) has front discs and rear drums.

Most likely an EX sedan/Si hatch. I believe they all got rear discs.

The model my buddy has is a 93 ex 4 dr.

My 93 Si came with rear discs and ABS.
