taking off the head

Default taking off the head

if im taking off the head, i am saposed to crant it to TDC first b4 anything right? but what if i take the head off without turning it to TDC, what will happen? thnks

its a good idea to crank the engine over to TDC because then the bottom end is already set, and the head will have the correct timin gso you dont bend a valve when reinstalling..

yes it is probably a good idea to set it at TDC but you should probably get a HELMS manual, if you have never done engine work of that caliber.

Like they said earlier its easier to set timing when it comes time, plus you wont have to worry about bending valves when you pull the timing belt off or anything like that
