Default SOHC VTEC Swap?

I have a 91 Accord LX, totally stock. I drive it in the winter so my CRX doesn't disapear from rust, but I'm looking to do some mods on it this summer. I did some searching and it would apear that I can do a SOHC VTEC swap on my f22a1? Looks like from a f22b or a f23? Is it worth it to do it, I couldn't find anything about whether or not it made any more power? Or maybe a diff. intake mani with a aftermarket cam plus bolt ons?
If I could do a head swap and cam for less than a H22, I'd rather do that since I do not have a garage anymore.

Well adding a sohc vtec head isn't going to make a huge noticable difference.

You can do it, but the money time and effort just to have sohc vtec seems a little rediculous to me.

As a daily driver or winter mobile...I would do just i/h/e and some weight reduction and call it a day.

But if you want here is the link:

Well, the work involved does not seem TOO bad. I mean pulling a head off is a job anyway. If it's not worth it though I'll leave it alone. Are there any good cams for a non vtec? I have Gude cams in my CRX and I am really impressed with them and they make one for the f22a1. The advantage I see for the f22b head would be off the shelf turbo stuff. But by the time I do the head and turbo I'd have spent enough for a H22 swap...
I have a kid on the way in a month and a half, so the Accord is going to be driven A LOT more so I gotta do something with it. I don't plan on drag racing with my baby in the car but I'd like it to have some oomph.

sounds like you want an h...2...2..a..i would not recommend a turbo if you dont want to race all the time. its hard to stay out of boost. with gas as expensive as it is i told myself the same thing, the only thing that got me to stop was boost creep to 13psi...untuned...

Yeah, I really want a H22. My friend has one in a four door civic and it hauls ***. He does 14.5 on street tires, 12.9 with a 75 shot and slicks. I think my Accord weighs close to that since I have a two door.

We put my old sohc vtec into my freinds car bc i had got a h22. We put it into a 94 accord dx. Really straight foward except wiring the dizzy stumped us for a day.Couldnt get spark.Worth it compared to his sluggish 150k mile non vtec motor he blew.

Do you mean japanstarmotors.com? I didn't see it listed on the website. I'll see if I can call them tomarrow. $75 for shipping seems too good to be true. hmotors wants over $200 I think.

no i meant japanstarmotor.com

"JDM ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS

»Engine Code: f22b
»Year:90-93
»Valve train: Dohc,16 Valves
»Transmission: Hydraulic
»Displacement: 2.2L
»Horsepower: 160 HP
»Price with transmission:795$
»Price without transmission:695$"

if you plan on boosting i'd go this route instead of an H23, H22, etc... unless you want to pay for new internals
