Alot of times they get pretty banged up when you try to take them out. All i can say is carefully pull on them with some plyers. Good luck

i just did this with my tranny dowel pins. i think theyre the same. just smash em till u can turn them with some pliers and wiggle em out. then try to gett em as round as possible with a hammer or something. them hammer the "fucked up" side into the head and the good side will be sticking out.

insert a 3/8 extension into the dowel pin, then clamp it with some pliers, then tug away.. that away you dont "bend" the dowel pin.. watch out for the head surface as well... a good old trick someone taught me!....
