Hondata vs Vtec controller
I know all you guys on this forum refer to Hondata as God but seriously if you had a vtec controller you'd be able to turn it down to about 4,500 rpm. Hondata programs the ECU for vtec at 5,200 rpm and also increases the revlimiter to 8,200-8,900. Since I don't want to burn out my engine reving the **** out of it wouldn't a vtec controller be more effected? Right? Any opinions welcome.
turning the vtec down dosnt necessarily give you more power. With the VAFC or other vtec controller you will need to tune your car otherwise you will probably just **** something up instead of making power.
Hondata is the best way to go, if you are afraid of over-reving option for retaining the stock rev limit.

Hondata is the ONLY place to get it done. They have a monopoly on this. If you send it to a hondata authorized dealer, they send the ECU to Hondata. Hondata also enforces their prices like *****, revoking the lisences of dealers who offer lower prices. From what I hear there is not much markup on it anyway.
The Hondata reflash does not only change your vtec corssover, and rev limiter. It also optimizes your fuel, and timing maps. If you are woried about revving the **** out of your engine with Hondata, the solution is really quite easy. Don't do it. Don't rev rev the car up to the rev limiter all the time. No one is forcing you to... I however, am of the opinion that doing so is safe.

Hondata has spent the time and cash tuning the ecu for our cars. When it comes to the k series motor they know thier stuff.
Just because you lower your vtec point on the vtec controller does not yeild you any power. Hondata not only adjusted the rev limiter, but also the vtec engagement, fuel and air mixture.
Let the professional handle it. Remember you pay for quality not quantity.
