Default here's a chnge...MANUAL to AUTO for 95 civic

as the title says, i actually am considering converting my 95 ex civic cpe from manual to auto. It seems like quite a bit of work, so is it worth it rather than buying another car? I really like how the stock engine is in good shape tne inside/outside is in great condition.

What all needs to chnage? Do i need to replace my gauge cluster, pedal assembly, shifter assembly and what else?

--which model civics as in 2/4dr, ex, dx, or whatever am i able to switch with?

Actually, I really want to do this if I coudl just find someone in WA to straight up switch with me.

thanks!

You can do it by getting the auto parts and the auto ECU. If you can do an auto to manual, you can do the other.
You need the guage for the P,R,N,D,D1,D2.
Doesn't matter in 2dr or 4dr.

Knew a guy go from auto to manual and then back to auto.

Don't know why myself.

Let me tell you, having an AT is no fun at all. I only wish my car was an MT, driving my friends cars' with a clutch is the best thing ever. One day I plan to swap at to mt.

Hey man, I sent you some PMs, I'd be willing to do the switch with you. I have a 1994 2 DR EX. The things I'm positive you'd need to switch is: ECU, Tranny, Shift Linkage, Pedal Assembly, Shifter itself and if anyone could clear this up with me Intake Manifolds, I've heard that you need to switch these out when doing this conversion, can anyone clear this up for me?

I'm thinking the same thing myself, but hey I may get a MT out of this, so I'm crossing my fingers for this.

If you do decide to do the swap, I'm in the mist on doing an auto-manual swap. So I will have an auto tranny you can have for dirt cheap..Post up some pics of your ride maybe some one will trade with you..

The wiring at the shifter would be a bitch. You would have to get that entire harness, from cluster- to the shifter location- to the ecu. You would have to wire for the shift solenoids also.

I'm scared and confused

I'd say find someone to trade with though, definitely not worth the work.. Also seems like ruining a perfectly good Civic.

Haha you guys have no idea what your getting your selfs into. I've did one on a 93 EG and it's easy to go to m/t with makeing a custom mount. For going backwards you need the whole cabin harness that goes to the ECU, Cluster, and shifter. You will also have to cut off the m/t mount on the engine bay wall and weld on an auto one.
It would be easyer to go and purchase an auto car than convert.
