Hi!

My friend has a D15Z6 hatch and he wants to do some head work along with new I/H/E and JR supercharger...

My question is: which DOHC head should he use that will fit on D15Z6 block?

How much power will he gain with that head swap (excluding I/H/E and SC)???

 

isn't that a sohc block?? correct me if im wrong...

 

the d16z6 is a SOHC block... you can't put a DOHC head on a SOHC block...

A DOHC head wont fit on that block.

 

Yes that's what I told him too but he insists on the fact that DOHC head will fit on his block... he just didn't know which one...

That also apllies to D16Y8 block and B16A2 head... right???

I was not 100% sure so i asked...

So definite answer is:

DOHC HEAD WILL NOT FIT THE SOHC BLOCK!!!

All D-series motors are SOHC except for the ZC
All B-series motors are DOHC
They do not interchange.

 

DOHC head WILL NOT fit onto the SOHC block without some SERIOUS modification.

isn't there a company out there that makes a dohc head that ill fit on the sohc. I think they make crate longblock engines. i remember the name started with a d...derte or something like that.

 

get a hammer and hit your friend with it if he brings it up again
