1300 of bolt ons will mean (if u stay name brand) header, test pipe/high flow cat, catback, intake, pullies.....and that would be good for maybe 10-15 (if ur lucky)
if u want to make power on a limited budget, than nitrous oxide (NAWWZZ) is your cheapest way to make power....but that doesnt create constant power, as ovbiously, you cant spray all the time
id rather take that 1300 and use it on suspension and some better tires

like the previous guy said
do some suspension stuff first. no need to go faster if you car wobbles all over the road because you have the stock suspension. go with sway bars and wheels.
you could always put a type R sticker on the car i here those are good for at least 15 hp

ive become a firm believer than unless ur gonna go all out, when it comes to "modding" 4cyl econo boxes, its all about what makes the biggest impact for the buck. thus said, $1300 for 15-20ish extra hp is not gonne be worth it, as ur really not gonna notice much difference in the way the car drives (any difference will most likely be mental, ie. loucer = faster...
) on the other hand, 1300 for adjustable shocks, lowering springs, sway bar(s), better tires, small (15" or 16") light weight wheels (if ur on steelies), and a short shifter (if ur a stick) will make it a whole new car, and will drive completly differently. in addition, the better ur car can handle, the better it can effeciantly use its power and torqie

I'll agree with everybody else.
A good suspension kit will eat up $1300 in a hurry.
The suspension was the first thing I changed on my car. I swapped out the stock suspension parts for a set of Tokico Illumina struts, Eibach pro-kit springs, suspension technique sway bars, Ingalls camber kit, and a Neuspeed strut bar.
It doesn't handle like a sedan anymore!
Check with http://www.shox.com ; they've got some very good prices.

i would also have to go with suspension. i would go for the TEIN SS with pillowball uppermount(850 ebay) w/ EDFC(380). EDFC makes it alot easier to adjust to road condition so i would suggest you get that too.

i would say suspension too... i have 6th 2 dr. and already forked out $1200 on my suspension... neuspeed springs, bilstein shocks, camber kit, strut tower brace... you feel the difference with a good suspension, makes your car much funner to drive and plus you can scare the living daylight out of your friend riding shot gun when you jump into a turn at 75 an hour when the benz infront of you is tapping on the breaks to prepare for the sharp corner... if i had to do my suspension over again i would go with tein, but either way neuspeed and bilstein is a great combo

Suspension would be the way to go! I agree with the louder = faster :rice: Thats what I am about to do to my car is suspension....the only thing now that I am missing is the $1300 or more.

Delta cams will run you about $95 bucks, full regrinds of your camshafts that'll give you 15whp+. Follow that with kteller exhaust (www.kteller.com), short ram intake, test pipe, remove A/C and Power Steering and you'll be all set w/ an additional 30whp and a wonderful/responsive feel.
Btw everyone, he was asking of what kind of mods he needs to get 30whp, not how and what to upgrade on his car.

You might want to consider front brakes improvements. I've just ordered H&R OE springs, Koni yellows, Brembo slotted rotors, AEM brake pads, Goodridge brake lines, all for about $1,200. I won't be going fast but will certainly feel better about the ride and braking.
suspension is a good idea
BUT if you want power, I'd suggest nitrous. I recently got a NX kit, and when I bought it I was thinking "wow its going to suck to have to fill up that damn bottle all the time". Basically, I bought a nitrous kit because I couldn't afford to go turbo this summer, and wanted something to get me through the winter. Well on my first bottle, I was spraying that junk any time that I was in the car for more than 10 minutes, and I drive 60+ miles a day to work and back so consider spraying all the way through 2nd and 3rd gear 3-5 times a weekday, and all the messing around I did that saturday night. That's a lot. And it lasted me until sunday, when I finally decided just drive around and spray it every time I hit the throttle until it was gone. It took me another 5-8 times of spraying to finish of that first bottle that ONLY HAD 8lbs in it.
So now, I'm thinking, wtf why spend more money on a turbo?! A 75 shot on a bottle is as fast or faster than 6psi on a snail.
