Default car not low enough? stech/agx

i got some tein s-tech's and kyb agx's put in but my car doesn't seem very low... i've seen pics of other cars on similar setups and they seem to have less wheel gap. is there something wrong with my springs/shocks?

IS the set up brand new? It might still need some time to settle in.

DewMota...please / yourself and your time here at H-T.

From what I understand, if the springs settle they're junk. I've been running Tokico sport springs on Illuminas for a few weeks, autox'ed once and my gap hasn't gotten any less. My gap is about 3" in the front and about 2.5" in the back. The springs are supposed to be 1.5" lowering. I guess this is a free bump for the thread owner as I'm interested as well.

According to optionsimports.com the tein s-tech's are supposed to have a 1.5" drop. Comparing the picture with my car with Tokico sports springs with a 1.5" drop, that looks about right. It's not about the ride height, it's about the actual ride and handling. Lowering your car too much can ruin your struts rather quickly.

what size wheel and tire are you using?
that'll have a dramatic effect on the look of your drop

but if you are wondeirng if they actually dropped the car, toss back on your stock spring/shocks and measure from the fender to the ground...after doing the same with teh tein/kyb

are you sure you have the springs in the proper location? Tall skinny springs up front and short ones in the back.

Is it even possible to reverse them? I know mine are on right.

those aren't reversed

when you reverse them....you end up wiht an uber low front, and a really high rear

its easy to tell if you have the backwards

I was looking into springs before when I wanted to lower my car..stechs make it look as if it was barely lowered. I droped my car (eg) 2.5 with some h&rs and I still think its kind of high. I guess its more of preference issue. But, with my drop there barely is any wheel gap between fender and rim to give you an idea. I can fit 2 fingeres between the wheel and the fender..And yea you can wait a little for it to drop..but ts not gonna drop drastically...

I run the same set-up on my EJ1 and I would say that theres nothing wrong with your car. I think its the tire/wheel combo your running..Are they 14s?? I have 15s with 195/50s and the gap is about a 2 finger/1 1/4 to 1 3/4(inches). I wait till' you have a decent set on wheels and tires then you will be happy. IMO this ride height is pretty good for the street..

I've done a few installs on S-techs myself, not on EJs though.
But lookin at that pic from the body tot he ground rather than the tire to the fender, it looks to be about right.
Oh and side note, that car is lookin freakin good man, great condition on the paint.

yeah the springs and shocks were brand new so maybe they will settle a little bit. my wheels are 14's so maybe it'll look better with some 15's. on the paint note, i got lucky finding this car since most of the 92-95 civics around here have quite a bit of rust.

Can you put 3 fingers between your rims and fender? Anywayz i have stechs on my hatch and people say its the perfect drop but these are people who hate seeing cars slammed.Sometimes i like the way it looks and other times i wish i bought coilovers which i think im going to buy soon.

I have TEIN S springs on my hatch and it's not slammed AT all.

Looks like I'm switching to H&R sports with Tokico Illumina's.
