Plug on oil pump .. ok to tap?

I want to use an NPT fitting on my oil pump plug, so I can add my oil accumulator through the pump oil galley .. is there any reason this won't work or is a bad idea?

i dont think it would be a problem since there are kits for ls/v and turbo lines that run out of the oil pump plug
