Default Who says are cars aren't collectable?

Well, like gas prices, they just keep going up

You all may remember my giving a member, (forgot his SN) a hard time for modding his 56K HF, that he picked up for $2K.
I kept saying it would appreciate. CRX's are collectors Items NOW.
Most of you flamed me. LOL

Heres some more proof.

Just got off the phone with a guy who was selling a '90 DX 5 speed. with 98K . I found in the local paper. Get this..... it was in the paper for $3700.00.
He told me it was already SOLD, after ONE DAY!! When I asked if he even got close to his asking price he started giggling like a girl, Why?
Cause two guys showed up at the same time, and drove the price up to $4000.
Unbelievable for a DX with 98K. it only COST $9000.00 14 years ago.
So what do you guys think now?
Think CRX's are gonna be valuable in the near future?
This is getting scary.

EDIT title should read "our cars". I'm an idiot

Sweet, maybe I should pickup these 2 rusted out crxs areound here for 500 a pop and turn around and make thousands!

But no seriously, I agree with you, with as many stolen threads and people getting in accidents these things are going to get harder and harder to find. Not to mention its pretty much the optimal cheap honda to modify. Everything that can be done has been done and the aftermarket support is crazy. As more and more are wrecked/stolen I'd expect pos crxs to hit 2k. Maybe I will go nab those 2 rust buckets....

I missed a '91 LX with 98K on the clock by one day. That really upset me. It was only $1500 and had been for sale probably 2 months ONE DAY!

Granted, sedans aren't in NEAR as much demand (I actually don't think they have a 'demand' at all. lol), but it's still a 4th gen civic nonetheless.

My brother told me that these cars sold for about 9000 new. Considering crx/hatchbacks that are in good condition sell for 3000, i'd say the cars have been holding their value for quite some time for being 13-16 years old.

They are always gonna be very valuable in some/our eyes, and therefore making it possible to get a good sum of money for them. I think they will always hold their value very well for an old honda. I dont think it will get to an insane point however..?

Hardly a collectable - Maybe for some - But its just the demand for these things thats brings the price so high - Low supply / High demand = money

The way EFs are being chopped up daily, the clean ones will be collectors items

Think of how many EFs are being turned into rice... Only the clean ones will survive.

You're right LSVTEC, there's a celestial blue one locally as well, all riced out, GSR blades, altezzas, B18C. Been for sale for like 3 months now. Can't give it away.

I am considering going down south and buying crx's and towing them up north. Make some money selling rust free cars here in the midwest. It'll be a summer deal when im off school

No rust, no dents, but some of the panels don't line up right.
30K on the odo. (yeah right, sounds shady) It is very clean though.
XCept he wants like $6000.
I'll give you his number if you want, I might still have it
He lives about a mile from the GSP
