A/C AND OVERHEATING. IS THERE A CONNECTION?
recently i added a new rediator, and a thermostat, to my 88 si, it has been driving good without overheating like it has been, one day i turned on the a/c, not even for 2 minutes, my car started smoking, an the temp. gauge, went past H, for the rest of the day, my car was running hot, even after letting it sit for a couple of hours, if anyone can help, thanks.

i thought that changing my thermastat would make my fans come one but i dont think it does because after the car overheated an i turned it off the fans weren't on, what should i do to get them to work?

make sure the fans will work when a connected to a 12 volt source. if they do check your coolant temp. sensor.

Start by checking the fuse, if good, check for power at fans with test light, if no power, check fan relays and fan switch(not sure where it is on your car). You should find a problem some where, if you do have power at the fans, try jumping power to them, also make sure the grounds are good for the fans. If all else fails, and the fans dont come on when you jump power to them they are probably bad.
