Anyone here with the Philly Region?
Planning on heading up to an event with Philly Region SCCA at Ripken Stadium this weekend and thought it'd be nice to meet some folks who I normally wouldn't.
If you are with the region, what can I expect at their event?Do they have their act together? How is the lot? How many runs do you usually get?
TIA!

The Philly region is a very well oiled machine. Their events are able to run about 200 people with no problems. Even getting 4-5 runs sometimes.
The Ripken lot is a bit slippery (in my opinion) since it's new asphalt and hasn't cured yet. There are bathrooms and food there.
This weekend is the Holbert Memorial event in which proceeds go to a charity.
I might be there might not. Depending on how my daughter feels (she's only 19 months old).

The Holbert is a once a year perpetual trophy given to the fastest pax winner, who gets to keep it for the year. Different format than their regular events. Info is available on their website. http://www.phillyscca.com
On Hoosiers, I've found the lot has pretty good grip, especially since it is extremely easy on tires. YMMV.

Not with the region, but have autocrossed with them frequently.
Great group of folks, and I agree a very "well oiled machine".
For their more attended events expect about 5 runs or so per day, but remember, if you're competing on a higher level the competition will be higher. To me that can off-set the lower amount of runs.
From what I understand, Ripken is a great lot.
Good luck and have fun.

They run a good event.
My two weeks of mid-summer wedding obligations are over so I'll be there...
Hopefully I'll remember how to drive after two weeks off!

The only problem (or maybe people don't see it this way) is that the Philly region are VERY Competitive. If you are looking to go faster this is the region to go with, but to some novices it might be a little overwhelming.
Bur remember you are there to have fun FIRST then be competitive.

you're running with a stock B18B, no LSD, azenis, full interior, kyb agx shocks, and cheapo lowering springs?
i wouldn't exactly say your car is similar... aside from being a civic hatch w/ an integra motor.

The asphalt has cured, AI/Porche club has been running on the lot for over a year now. I have to agree with Rob, for asphalt, it has good grip. Not the best lot ever for course designs though with the ski jump drainage grading in the lot. Still not bad though.

Oh yeah that jump was pure fun - - NOT!
Remember I said in my opinion. We're used to running on cure asphalt - the type that turns a white'ish gray.
When we ran at the new Farm Show lot (satellite) in 2001 or 2002 the lot was just laid down and it was 95 degrees that one day and we had molten asphalt at high speed corners from the heat and DOT R tires causing friction. Was actually pretty cool, but that was the last time we were allowed on that lot
