Never again taking my ITR to the dealer
For those of you who don't know about my engine problem and what happened when i took it to Acura, here is the link to catch you up to speed

So i have reached my first 500 miles and of course i have burned off the amount of oil that the over filled, but not to the point where is should be if they filled it correctly. The mechanic at my work as a idea, which is to siphon the oil out of my dip stick tube, and he had a machine to do it. So we attempt to siphon, but the damn oil is siphoning to slow, the mechanic was like, " that isn't right, this thing should have sucked out about a half of a court by now, what kinda oil do you have in there?" I told him that the acura dealer said they put fully synthetic 10w-30 in the engine. So he took some of the oil already siphoned and compared it to some synthetic 10w-30 he had in the shop, he was like " there is no way this is 10w-30, this is much much thicker then that" He showed me by dipping his finger in his oil and letting it drip off ( which is dripped off pretty fast), then dipped his finger in the oil from my engine, and i would be damned if that **** barely dripped off of his finger at all
. It tool about 30 mins to drain a quart of oil out of my engine, the oil was so freakin thick ...... man this pisses me off, i don't know why they are trying to screw me so bad. First they put in way too much oil, and they also put in some **** that was probably diesel oil for all that i know. It's not like i was trying to pull a fast one on acura, my car was legitimately burning a **** load of oil, not even putting it into VTEC, then when i did put it into VTEC is burned oil like gas.
Bottom line, after i get this new engine under warranty from acura, i am never taking it back to them again

yeh def tried to make it so you car would burn little to no oil, or at least make it "look" that way, which of course will alow them to say everything is fine. dealer ships are extremely shady, i used to work at one i know.
That is one of the worst things I have heard about a dealership. Definetly a corprate issue. 30 mis to drain a quart of oil? please tell me that is not from the drian plug in the sump!
this is what you do. i used to work in the dealer. two words to mention and everything would go your way"CUSTOMER RELATIONS"
tell the service writer or service manager that you're going to call customer relations and report the service you are recieving.
just watch the difference in how you are going to be treated. trust me

Change your locks. They sound like a dealership chuck-full-o thieves that will come for it
Was your motor warm when you tried to get that goop out? That will have added to the consistency of the oil.

dealerships are the worst. Montgomeryville Acura forgot to put a bolt back on my valve cover, and damaged my front lip durring a 32 mile road test (recorded odom. reading). Davis Acura is pretty damn good when it comes to their work, but the shop they contract out for body work is horrible. On my old LS I had to get the front end refinished, but they forgot to use a flex additive... it spidered after 2 months. I told them I want it refinished, but they said it was not their problem. After a quick call to Acura customer relations, they agreed to refinish it. (sinbro2 is damn right when it comes to customer relations). It sucks, but you just cant trust them. :

I can confirm to some degree what sinbro is sayin as well. customer satisfaction is a big deal to dealerships, and that is both for sales and service. But i don't think threats are taken well either, so use common sense when dealing with them.

I just read both your threads. The person that filled your oil probably guesed that you didn't check your oil and just filled it up past the second dot.
Or they could have been a strait up *******. I used to work with ******** and have seen countless times where there was just a lack of caring. Some people just don't give a **** when it comes to working on other peoples cars.

I'll keep in mind the customer relations option, but i really don't want to say anything because, i don't want them comming back and say, " well how do you know what type of oil was put in your car". And i sure don't want to tell them that i siphoned oil out of the block. I am just going to let them pull the dip stick and be like, " Holy **** this thing burnes a lot of oil", and if they try to question me then i am going to just play dumb
well i took it to the dealer today for my first 500 mile check-up, they pulled the dip stick and the look on the tech's face was so funny. He said " Well damn, the oil isn't suppose to be that low, i guess your engine is kinda screwed up". My only reply was " damn straight". the reading on the dip stick was at the tip on the bottom of the stick
. So they filled her back up and now i gotta drive around another 500 miles before they replace the engine, they said.
I will keep you guys updated and let you know how everything rolls out.

Do the right thing and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the State Attorney's General office. Be professional and coherent with your complaints. Do not ramble or make accusations. Simply state the history of the problem (have documentation to back it), why you are not satisfied, and what you would like to have done to resolve the problem.
I feel your pain, the body shop has painted my wife's Civic twice and it still has fish-eyes and buffing burn marks in the paint. I may be retracting credit card payment and making them sue me.

It hard to find and trust a dealership that is suitable to your needs. My advice to all you guys, taht are **** about their cars, is to walk to the tech and present yourself that you are the owner and love your car. Also mention you apperiate that he/she is working on your own car. If that doesn't fit you, stand by the garage door and just watching him/her work on your car.
I work at a dealership and I see what goes on, most of the time, its never a problem.
Bert who just glanced outside and noticed 2 supercharged NSX being dropped for serice and staying overnite. If I only the knew the owners to ask I can get a test drive, lol.
I agree 100% w/ you and I'm sure the stealership is trying to screw you. However, has it occurred to you that you have now admitted in a very public forum that you are in fact defrauding the dealership (siphoning out oil so it looks lower than it otherwise would)? There is, legally, no substantial proof that they (the dealership) has acted in an inappropriate manner with regard to your car. You, on the other hand, are acknowledging that you are taking actions to make something appear to be something it is not. I really would hate to see the stealership win because you were careless. You never know who is reading these posts..........
Just browing through your thread and it caught my attention. Legally speaking I wouldnt say anything against the dealer. These guys might be at time idiots but the contracts that you sign releasing your car waive your rights generally. The best course of action(also stated by others above) is to state the problem in a very polite manner to some sort of management person("umm I think we have a problem..oversight.) Acura is crazy over the ITR and they sure as hell dont want bad word on the street. If you are firm enough with them in a polite manner you will generally find that they will begin to break down and start bending over backwards for you. Just my two cents, I have had a bit of experience with consumer law. You mention law suit and they clam up and you will have to deal with some hard *** lawyers, and trust me its not worth the money to fight them.
