Default redrilling rims?

i was looking at some universla 5x114.3 with 4x114.3 lug rims...i noticed that most of them use about 3-4 of the existing holes..so is it possible to redrill a 5x114.3 lug configuration to fit a 4x114.3 configuration?

People do that with brake rotors (to use 300ZX rotors on a 240SX).

I have seen wheels with a dual 5/4 hole pattern, but unless the back side of the mounting pad is completely solid, it's not going to work.

i saw some wheels where they fill up the holes and redrill them, that might be better for the overall strong hold of the rim.
