b16 swap/oil light stays on
I did a b16a swap in a 90 crx. Ever since i got the car running the oil lights has stayed on, I've put 2500 miles on it the engine has never knocked or nothing. Vtec has never worked. I hooked a digital gage up to the engine to see how much oil pressure it was actually getting. Also i changed the oil sending unit. anyway the digital gage showed 0PSI's. If that is so why wouldn't the engine lock up by now? and what do i need to do to make it have the oil pressure its suppose to have. Also when i rev it up it show's 0 psi's. What the cause of this?
The wire that should be hooked up to the oil pressure sender is loose, not plugged in at all, or you have some wires crossed, or your sender is faulty.
get a mechanical gauge; since its most accurate, and see psi
the dummy light goes on with less than 4 psi...
and if you really have almost no oil pressure, i would not drive the car...

ok my car is having the same problem KINDA.......i just swaped my block, my light will stay on, if i rev it to fuel cut and let it sit at fuel cut for a second sometimes the light will flicker n sometimes it will turn off, i have double and triple checked the wiring and its plugged in nice n snug, not low on oil, what should i check? i am thinking its the sensor on the back of the motor? or is it the pump?
