If you'd like the same engine, wouldn't it be wise to search around for another D16?
Those blocks usually run about $300 if that.
Suggestion: Search the classifieds.

i was hoping to get the complete engine... simply because i want to take the car to a shop... have them take the old engine out... give them the replacement engine... and have them drop it in... and then its a go... and i want to do it all as cheap as possible... with $2000 max limit

2000 may seem like alot but that really won't get you too far and you'd probably be able to get a b16 longblock and tranny maybe but then figure in the install price. You'd be better off getting a h22 since there pretty cheap and can be found easily under 2000 but the shop that installs it for you are gonna rape you no matter whats installed. Learn how to swap and you can save some major cheese and gain some important knowledge under your belt.

Yeah but $2000 gets only the swap (if you can find a complete swap for $2000, hmo is like $2250). Then add on for axles, mounts, ac bracket kit (probably wants to retain ac), ecu (probably can't chip one hiomself if he can't even do a swap), new timing belt and water pump... the list goes on.
IMO he's best of picking up another d16y8 in good condition, maybe do a t-belt and water pump (prostreetonline.com has a special right now) and be back on the road for less then a $1000 after parts and labor.

I don't understand the question... you want the same engine. D16y8's are cheap and you have $2k available. What is the issue?

lesson #1: they charge interest and stuff when you don't pay your bill off every month
lesson #2: if your motor gets stolen, you'll still be paying for it down the road

credit card's arent evil, its how you spend it that makes them evil.
anyways if i were you i would save up first so when you do use your credit card you are able to pay it off on the first payment. credit cards are for poor people.
credit card allows you to spend when you dont have money, so dont use it.

Just save $300-$500 instead of paying $600 or so with interest on the cc.

don't buy too much **** on the credit card get a d16y8 and get it put in, and call it a day. I mean maybe you can pay off the credit card but what if you your source of money disappears?
Why do you need to replace it anyways?
