Ditch the OEM steering wheel and get the MUGEN?
I need some comments. Im looking to sell my OEM steering wheel w/airbag and get the Mugen racing II in suede and the mugen steering wheel hub. What do u guys think. pros
and cons

wouldn't the suede fade or bald out eventually? sure is nice but IMO I'll keep my airbag and not waste my precious priceless life over some pricey mugen steering wheel.

I agree, the steering is nice but the stock steering wheel isnt that bad and its the same size. I would use that money for something else.

okay! the truth! Here it goes! Its okay! Suede! Oh man!! Gone!!! The clip that cancels the airbag. DOES NOT FIT! Not unless someone here knows how to fix this. I'd rather keep the stock. If your gonna track the car or show. Then its good. My suede is already gone. For you to keep this **** perfect, wear gloves, LOL! Overall its a decent steering wheel. I'd rather have the other Mugen steering wheel, the one thats discontinued. Good luck w/ the decision. By the way, if you get your car washed by someone tell them to wear gloves! LOL!
The Mugen wheel is actually made by Momo. When some lady decided to turn right into me and it deployed both airbags, completely unnecessary but they deploy easier on an impact that is off-center. It was actually a distraction in this instance as I was heading for some poles that were sticking up from the sidewalk.
Anyways, I didn't have the OEM wheel put back in, instead I went with the Mugen hub which locates the wheel in an almost perfect closeness to the body. And my steering wheel is a Momo 320mm 'Race' wheel. The suede, I don't know, I just think it will completely wear out over time. It is a nice wheel, but I definitely prefer my Momo over it. If you want the Mugen, get it. I thought there was some sort of law stateside that you can not get rid of the airbag. Is this not the case?
Pic of the Momo wheel...

Stupid maybe in your mind, but like I said mine deployed and was actually a detriment and about caused more harm as I couldn't see where I was going and was slapping the bag out of my way.
Yes they are good, but they can also be bad. Look how long cars were around without airbags. If everyone drove around with 5 point harnesses there would be no need for airbags! Cheaper and safer actually.

maybe. but it is illegal to remove the air bag when it exist.

to me the OEM 1 looks a lot better plus its HONDA the only diff w the type R is that it says MOMO and i think the H is RED. plus the Mugen just seems like JDM bling to me but its up to you
I have Momo race in my EG and love it. I have been in front end accidents with the airbag before, and on a lowered car, it never seems to go off. I know many people that had that same thing happen. Crunch, but no airbag on a lowered car. Removing useless weight =
But, don't get the Mugen, too much money that could be used elsewhere.

I'd rather have 4-point harnesses and not hit either. Airbags break noses, hitting your head on a steering wheel breaks noses, either one hurts. Get the wheel, save weight, and get some good harnesses to strap you in.

Then you cant dodge anything coming straight to your head

You couldn't dodge anything coming at your head either way in the split second an accident happens. Airbags aren't designed for catching your head when your trying to dodge something either.
Well here is where it gets tricky. Stock wheel has an airbag which could save your life. In some cases the airbag has killed the person.
With the Race wheel you don't have that 50/50 option to live. If you crash hard enough then you will have a mugen/sparco/momo emblem stamped on your head so at least everyone who attends you funeral will know which brand you liked the best
.
As for the racing harness in a daily driven vehicle this has mixed opinions. With stock seat belts they are designed to give some slack in certain instances. If you should happen to get into an accident where moving your body a few inches could mean the difference between life or death you have that chance in those few seconds you have.
With a race harness it is designe to hold you planted to your seat where as you do not move. This is meant for racing purpose's. For daily driving should you need to move a few inches to survive you are screwed. And for the majority of the case's most people do not have the belts installed correctly which pretty much makes having the belts pointless.
In racing events you are required to have a helmet, so if you have a racing wheel you would have a greater chance of surviving seeing as if you should hit your head on the wheel you have a helmet to protect your head.
The same could be said about roll cages in daily driving cars, but that is a whole other story.
So like I said, what ever you do you are responsible for your own actions. Choose wisely.

Your reflexes are faster than you think, my friend saved his life dodging a tailgate by wearing a regular seat-belt on a daily driven car.
On top of that, what happens when your car is rolled and no rollcage?
My point, give others info on the product before you suggest it, specially when it comes to safety
