ok my gf's dad has a 90 teg ls , and it starts up but has a lumpy idle for a couple mins then idles fine . but when you rev it up it only goes to about 2700 -3000 then goes back to a lumpy idle . and when you try and put it in drive (its a auto)it has no power at all. i only looked at it for 5 min but no soupy mix so the headgasket is good and has spark ,also no codes flashing . so this weekend i'm gona go and try a fix this thing you guys have any cule what could be wrong or what to check for .

i'm gona do a comp test (it smokes abit) and check the timing, anybody know the timing off the top of your head .

Did you check all the spark plugs? It could be running on certain cylinders without the others firing.

 

spark plugs, wires try those first. then cap and rotor. then fuel filter. good luck

sounsd liek the timing. check if the ignition timing is good, then check the cam timing and make sure everything lines up.

that sounds exactly what happend to my 94 teg when i did the timing wrong. i had the exhaust cam off by about 3 or 4 teeth and it would barely rev to 3000 then had a lumpy idle, and when put it gear i couldn't let the clutch out or the motor would stall from lack of torque.

 

any other ideas whats the timing gona be at 14 degs
