What motor are you using, what head is it.. You can put a vtec head on a non-vtec block also.. Its called a mini-me, just search for it..

If your talking about a 1.6 sohc(non-vtec) from a 88-91 si then yes you can put the head on with no problems since you say you have an hf its already wired for mpfi.the dizzy from your 1.5 will work fine, if you dont have the one from the 1.6.as for choice on ecu's it depends the pm6 ecu's from 88-91 si's have a more aggresive fuel curve than the hf pm8 ecu.the 1.6 head from si have a more agrresive cam and slightly bigger injectors So if you use the pm8 it will run but you wont be taking full advantage of the motor not to mention the pm8 ecu has stock rev limiter of 5,500 rpms.So basically to sum it all up if your going to swap the head then you might as well get a complete one with dizzy and everything to take full advantage of the 1.6 head.
