Default need a black pearl paint, WITH NO COLOR FLAKES

i've been looking through past threads about the honda and acura blacks.

right now my accord is grenada black pearl. which is black with gold flakes. i don't want the gold flakes anymore and flamenco black pearl also has the gold/silver flakes. nighthawk has blue flakes but i've read that it sometimes looks a lot more blue than black, and i don't want that.

so my question. where can I get a honda OEM paint code/color code for a black that doesn't have any color flakes in it? or are there any other options for good paint like the honda paint? thanks a lot!

most paints are the same price .. it just depends on what brand of paint you use .. most body shops(good ones) use PPG or similar ..
it all depends on what type of paint you use. but your looking around 300-700 just for the paint at regular price there again, depending on the brand :: hope that help..

recomend brands::
deupont
glasric"sp" (glaz-er-ick)
PPG
sickenz"sp"(sick-enz)
diamont

yeah it doesnt really matter what car the color is from, it just matters on what it takes to mix it... like more metallics or more reds and pearls means very expensive... a lot of white in the mix means cheap!!! i used to work at a paint store

oh, i'm not painting it myself. i was just curious to see if it'd be cheaper for me to buy a good brand of paint myself and take it to the body shop as opposed to using the brand they use, which may not be dupont or ppg. i'm really limited on funds and body shop opportunities, ever since dragva went down i can't get a hold of the body shop i planned on going to. it looks like maaco for me because it's so damn expensive everywhere else in this shithole town.

wrx does have crazy gold flake:: my advice to you man .. is get some books at barns an noble and try to take care of some body work your self .. save your money talk to some body shops and ask them if its cool if you have your own paint.. if so .. buy it .. take your car up there with most of the work done and alot of parts taken out or off .. and let them spray it .. could be alot cheeper

yeah, i wanted to do all the prepwork, but i just can't afford the downtime. i found that body shop from dragva, so we'll see what they say.

anyone else know of any blacks without any flake. just black pearl/metallic?

just do a flat black base coat, then layer the sucka with a few coats of clear.. wetsand and buff you're good to go.. i think that's what you're looking for.. isn't it?

if you layer it with a couple nice thin layers of clear and you wetsand /buff properly it'll look like a mirror finish..

Hi, I am putting my car in for a black respray this weekend.. I am also in the dilemma of what black to choose. At the moment I have my mind set on "brilliant black". I believe this color is used on audi's and rx7s and rx8s.

this mr2 was done in "brilliant black"

and this rx7 is brilliant black also

my choices now are between brilliant black and that bentley black color. hmmm. which would look best with bronze 96 ITR wheels?
