Trouble with CEL #9 on DOHC ZC.
Hello Honda-tech. I am having problems with my zc crx. The car has always had a miss i can't figure out so I decieded to buy new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, brand new distributor and #1 cylinder sensor(from acura, thanks len!). About a day before the parts arrived I played with the timing a little and later that day came cel #9. Now I get the code constantly. I have checked timing marks and everything is lined up properly. The only thing I can figure is the wire going to the sensor? Can someone explain to me how to check ohms for the wires. Please try to be as detailed as possible because wiring is not easy for me. thanks
on the DOHC ZC the CYL sensor is the round box thingy on the exhaust cam
the other "distribuitor" looking thing next to the actual distribuitor
take the OHM meter and place it on 2k
unplug the sensor
touch both cables off the sensor...
the readings should be i beleive 550-750ohms (not sure since i am at work and dont have my manual with me)
if not withing specs, and u got some ridiculous high resistance, the sensor is bad
if it tests within specs, put the ohmeter to beep, touch the harness side of the plug, and the ecu terminal C1 , and C2
if it beeps the harness its ok, if u shake it and stops beeping or a sec, ur harness is fractured
