Need help with my SRS Light
I installed an NX kit over the weekend, but when I started everything up its all good except that my SRS light is on now. I pulled a couple of the wiring harnesses from the backside of the driver's side fusebox when I was looking for a good power lead, I plugged them all back in but I'm wondering if the light came on from disconnecting one of those harnesses? I know that its easy to trip something and get a light, so I know that the chances of there actually being a problem with my airbags or my seatbelt tensioners is like 0.0001%. If anyone knows what I might have done to set this off, or how to reset it, I'd appreciate it. Thanks
This is someones step-by-step that I saved a while ago. Can't remember who wrote it but here it is.
Erasing the DTC memory
1) Turn ignition switch off
2) Connect the scs service connector to the MES connector. Do not use a jumper wire
3) Turn ignition switch to on
4) The SRS indicator light will come on for about 6 seconds, and then go off. Remove the SCS service connector from the MES connector within 4 seconds after the light comes on
5) The SRS indicator will come on again. Reconnect the SCS service connector to the MES connector within 4 seconds after the light comes on.
6) When the SRS indicator light goes off, remove the SCS service connector from the MES connector within 4 seconds.
7) The SRS indicator light will blink 2 times indicating that the memory has been erased
8)Turn the ignition switch to off and wait for 10 seconds.
I know what your thinking. WTF is the MES connector? Good question. Its up under the steering wheel. Above and behind the scan tool connector (where you jumper it to get CEL codes)
Hope this helps you.

i think this was the dude askin about f23 manis....dont remember though. im guessing a sixth gen but im ASSuming. but anywho back to my question what color were the harnesses you unplugged
Forgot to mention. I do believe those instructions I posted are only for 94-97 Accords. I think the 6th gens are different.
Also, I agree with secksiman19. If you unplugged a yellow harness, then thats what caused it. You can even cause it by pulling your SRS fuse from the underdash fusebox.

my guess was from pulling a fuse or wiring harness.... I have an 02, i was the guy asking about manis. I was into the driver's side fusebox trying to find a good power lead, so a lot of those fuses got pulles, along with a light blue wiring harness that I pulled from the backside of the driver's side fuse box
yeah, I think the procedure for reseting the SRS light is different between generations. I know I've seen the procedure for the 6th gens on this board though. Maybe some searching will help you find that procedure.
edit:
Well after doing some searching it seems as though the procedure is the same. People asked for the procedure to reset the SRS light for 6th gens and people posted up the same procedure I did here. Also, some people asked if they were the same between generations and the understanding is yes. So in short, what I posted above should work for you.

I didn't get the chance to do this on my Accord before I totaled it but maybe you could get it at the dealer or even make one. I read something in the EG forum about using a speaker harness from an older Honda to make one. They said you can buy it from your local stereo store like Ciruit City or Best Buy.
This is the post I read it in.

1st you need to either buy or make the "SCS Service Connector." I used a speaker harness for and older Honda which you can buy at a local stereo shop such as Circuit City or Best Buy, and cut the wires and looped them together. You can also use a paperclip but that will make it a little more difficult because you have to connect it and disconnect it a few times quickly. </TD></TR></TABLE>
Hope this help.

oh, sorry for the misinformation. I didn't know that nor did I read that in any of the archived threads.

Well, I'm in the same spot with my <U>2000 EX-4cyl</U>. The SRS light came on around 49,000 miles. I thought it was because the guys who detail my car pulled a plug under the passenger seat. But, I checked and nothing was loose. I'm still trying to figure out what these plugs are described in the step-by-step instructions.
I also looked at a surve sight that came up in Google and they didn't have a lot of good things to say about the electrical system in the '00 Accord.
Personally, I like my car and until my soon-to-be ex-wife hit my car, it looked really good.
Oh... the survey site is http://www.carsurvey.org/review_61390.html
