h22 civic balance shaft seal accessible?
hey guys, i ran a search and found that this was a common problem but i wasnt able to find out if it was possible to change this seal in the bay of a civic.
i first thought it was my oil pan gasket but most signs point to this seal.
im losing about 1/4 qt. a minute when the car is running.
so has anyone changed the seal without having to drop out hte motor?
any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated

Its not a big deal to change the balancer shaft seal in the car.... You may want to make sure its not the cams/crank seal causing your leak
When you get your bal. shaft seal from the dealer, there is a retainer bracket your going to want to pick up as well. It was offered on a recall of some sort on the Prelude/Accord.
I had my balancer seal pop out on me one morning on the interstate. Needless to say no seal pushes out oil REAL quick. Once I installed the seal/reatainer, no more worries.

so far on my list i got:
timing belt and balancer belt
balancer shaft seal
balancer shaft seal retainer

Your going to need the holder tool for the tensioner, I dont know if they will have one or not. Its used to hold the tensioner while you reinstall the timing belt.
Your list pretty much covers the rest though.
