Default slow 4 door b-eighteen?

i finally got a 4 door eg and then a few months later i got a b18b with a b16 tranny like ive been wanting. so im happy but i took it to the track and it ran 10.7s(1/8 mile btw) which is crazy because it should be running mid 9s. i still have stock exhaust and everything but that isnt enough to make it a second slower. i was spinning pretty bad too but idk i just felt like telling everyone my pointless story

p.s do you think it's possible that running my dx ecu is effecting it that bad?

First off all he is running b18b which doesn't have vtec and yes your stock DX ecu is killing you unless it's chipped.

get a better ecu... I'm sure you'll get better times.

analyze your 60 ft times and see if your getting good hook. and if your not getting good hook up, don't immediately blame it on tires/or engine power. practice practice practice.

if you're using a LS motor and a d15 ECU, think about the fuel map... I think an engine is becoming anorexic... Hm... I'm glad its not boosted then I might hear some *PING*PING*PING* BOOM....

I like how he made sure to clarify his time of 10 seconds wasn't his 1/4 mile time and just his 1/8 time. He had me going for a second there.

yea get a ls ecu, an if its the stock dx exhaust it does rob a little power, i ran an exhaust for a while then went back to stock and theres not as much pull top end

Damn, this is the 1st time I heard of someone swapping an entirely different motor and using the stock ECU the car came with thinking it would be ok. **scratches head** Get an LS ECU, get a better exhaust, watch those times go down.

Clark, you forgot to also list that you dont have any front motor mounts, and also you have baldass tires. Get the right ECU in the car, I cant belive you are still running on the dx ecu??????????? You need to finish your swap, get some tires, and work on getting the car off the line, until then you are wasting your time.

A LS ecu will help a little but trust me the car will still be slow. Ever driven an Integra LS? They are quite slow and your car weighs only slightly less.
