Default Wiring Guru's.....Need Help Now

we are wiring up a jdm d15b vtec to my friends car. his harness doesn't have the green plug that plugs into the vtec solonoid. we found one that fit, but where do we need to run the wires to? can we just run them straight to the ecu from the plug? or do we need to put it on the tower?

also, the other plug on the vtec solonoid, the one with one wire, where does that one need to go?

we are more than likely going to run the vtec wires to the ecu and ground the one that needs to be grounded. we don't know about the other one really though, were does it go.

thanks

well first, knowing what car that you guys are workin on would help out a ton (damnit i hate when people do that), but if it's something besides a 92 hatch, or a 92-95 EX, Si, or VX, then, yes, run the 2 wires to the ecu and ground the ground wire on the vtec pressure sensor at the thermostat housing.

if it happens to be one of the cars above stated (assuming it's even an OBD I civic), then you can run the 2 wires to their spots on the strut towers, since all of those cars are pre-wired for vtec up to the strut towers. good luck. you'll need a P28 ecu, too

forgot to put the car. its a 93 dx hatchback

we looked at the wires from my car, same car with a gsr motor. so we figured where to put the vtec wires. we are just going to run them straight to the ecu.

what are the pins that we can take out. the ones that aren't being used?

do you know where the other wire goes? its the one that connected to the vtec solonoid too, it has one black wire.

you should just be able to extend them from the shock tower or if you have to run a wire to the ecu for a knock sensor you could run them together to the pins

He doesn't have a knock sensor to wire. For vtec pressure switch you can use either a green plug or get one of the grey plugs from back of the intake matifold, I'm pretty sure they are the same. You will need to run one wire to the ground second to the d6 pin (I think on ECU). For vtec solenoid you can just cut the connector and just add a wire to existing one and run to a4 on ecu (I'm not sure about that one niether, search). If you got a 92 you can run them to the shock tower.

okay...i didn't know much about the car when i first posted, but now i know its a 92, so its prewired for vtec correct?

okay......so the two wires from the green plug, do those go to the shock tower?

the other plug thats on the solonoid, the grey plug with one wire, forgot what color, where does that one go, to the tower also?

thats the way my friend wired it up, but we don't hear vtec, so we don't know if something isn't hooked up right. should we be able to hear vtec on that d15b motor?
