91 INTEGRA OPTIONS
WARNING! NEWBIE ALERT. take it easy folks
I have been searching for answers to my question and just haven't found what i am looking for, so im asking for help.
i have a 91 integra gs that is stock and i am looking to get a swap. Right now i am looking at a jdm b18c1 and a jdm b16a. with the cash i have available i am trying to get a b18c1 with a stage 2 clutch. But i was told that the b18c would not pass the visual at a smog referee station in my 91. and it is very important to me that it is legal here in california. i think he might be mistaken but i can't find any proof.
he suggests i should get a jdm b16a with stage2 clutch and skunk2 intake manifold (with CARB number) for the same price ($3500) instead, but i was set on the b18c. im sure the price is good, but i want to make sure im getting a solid set-up.
is a jdm b18c1 smog legal in a 91 teg?
if anyone can set me straight i would be stoked

it very difficult to pass visual inspection in CA w/a JDM motor however if you put a U S spec motor in the car w/ all the emission stuff for that motor in that yr car you should have no problem w/ the CA referee.
