Default D16Z5 (1990 ZC) and B16 distributor compatibility?

My swap won't start.
It cranks, but there's no spark. It appears the wiring is OK, and I don't have any codes. I measured, and there's a current on the dizzy connector when I crank the car.

...so I suspect a broken dizzy, or rotor or something.
Can I test this with my D16Z5 (1990 ZC) dizzy, before I buy expensive parts, and find out thet it's something else.

Any suggestions furthermore?

There are 2 white wires in the dizzy plug. If you have them switched around you won't get any spark. Try switching them.

I know there are 2 wires on the plug, but I'm not about to cut upp perfectly good wiring.

Do I NEED to switch the wires,..or is it just a thought?

I know what he's talking about, this is common in every swap there is. you dont even need to cut them up, just take a small flat head screw driver (smallest you can find, one for like fixing eye glasses) and find the 2 white pins, take them out, switch em, and voila! i bet it will start. if not, its some thing else.
