Friend of mine Over REVVED his motor PICS INSIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well he was at the track making his second pass when he got down to the end and was about to shift 3rd-4th and accidently hit 3rd to 2nd and heres the pics

PICS ARE TAKEN BY CAMERA PHONE - Not that bad of quality

Car- hatch with JDM ITR motor TIMING BELT DIDNT SNAP

Sleeve GONE!

Piston Completly Exploded and blew hole in other one

8 valves completely broke and some melted

could this have damaged the cams because i think he wants to sell them ???? i wouldnt think so but i may be wrong let me know

WOW...pure destruction.

Thats unfortunate, I don't think that the cams would be effected...just aslong as they didn't get scored or anything.

Lets see now...the cam lobes had to push down on the valves hard enough to break off the valve heads. Yeah, I'd say there's a chance that they could be damaged.

JDM ITR engine revs to 8800. I reckon that when he changed down, you'd have made the engine do about 13000rpm! I'd have thought the clutch would have blown up too!

i just recently over revved to 10k on the highway shifting from 3rd to 4th, i hit 2nd. no engine damage noticeable, but my fingers are still crossed with hope.

cams are pretty much GONE.....

tell ur friend to learn how to drive better unless he is a baller and can afford ITR motor's.....cuz like the first post said if it was a single cam this would be funny....but an ITR MOTOR>...makes me sad
