Default Putting a 91 CRX Si Motor in an 88 CRX DX Auto

I am considering dropping my old 1991 CRX Si Motor into an automatic 1988 CRX dx. I have an 1988 crx engine harness for the D16a1 motor. Also the ECU, linkages, headers from the 91 as well as all the other stuff. I also have an 88 part car with the manual pedal assembly.

What other hurdles will I be looking at? Such as axles, shift linkage exhaust, cables and such.

Well obviously the most important thing is converting to mpfi and converting from auto-manual(unless you wanna keep the auto dx tranny)Axles i'm not sure which ones to go with for sure but you might have to have them cutom made with the inner shaft being from a si and the outer from a dx(remember that having to change axles is only needed if you swap to manual tranny)(on my 88 hf i used the stock hf axles when i swap my 90 crx si motor in)But a dx has different spline count on the hub end .you will need a shift linkage from a 88-91 any model.stock si header will bolt right up.I cant think of anything else right now but if i remember i will let you know

Thanks, I have a full set of swap stuff. So the hubs on the dx have a different config than the SI. I have the Si axles and will probably switch the dx to auto. From the sounds of it I will have to scam some si hubs.

no. the DX/Si have the same hub spline counts. its the HF that has the odd ball # of splines.

The SI motor is D16 no VTEC. Are you trying to wire a VTEC (B16a) into your CRX. I have the info on that (It's just 4 add wires)?
