gray plug on top of y1 tranny, and no vss hole? wtf?
anyone know what i'm supposed to do here, I got a plug on top of the y1 thats gray and has 3 wires..
I have no idea what plugs in there, and I can't find a spot for the vss cable.. wtf does it go? do I take the plug off and put it there or what?

hey man i got a simple trick that will save you 75 dollars for a manual VSS. it works great.
alright on the VSS there is 3 bolts...2 bolts hold the top plug on, and the third, attaches the whole unit to the tranny, well unbolt the two that hole the top part on and there is now a hole, stick your cable down there and push. it should stay in there i did this to my car and it pretty much locked itself down there it took quite abit of force to pull it out. This can be a quick temporary fix until you get the right vss or u could just go with it, any other questions Pm me

I did the same thing, but mine kept popping off. I just took the outer boot and slipped it over the cylinder that the grey plug used to be attached to. I then took 2 hose clamps and tightened it down. Worked great!
