Last JIC coil, Frozen Rear LCA, SAWzall and a whole lotta love! [HELP]
So this week I was installing my JIC FLT-A2 coils. I put the first three on and of course when I get to the rear passenger side coil I run into a frozen lca. We tried to move the bolt for an hour using all sorts of tools, with my friends dad, a mechanic, NO LUCK. Next, I busted out the sawzall and cut the bolt and the rubber sleeve it was inclosed in out. Also, then I had to hack the additional 2 metal sleeves out. So finally, I took the entire old bushing out (this is the bushing for the strut). Now, I tried to put my $28 new bushing from the stealership in. I sprayed silicone lubricant on it as well as on the inside of the lca. I used a vice, a hammer and chizel and brute force. I spent about an hour and a half and no luck. Does anyone here have any suggestions because this bushing is being stubborn as a mule with a stick up its ***! thanks.

You couldn't get a stock bushing in w/ a vise? That's surprising. We used a vice to press my friend's polyurethane upper control arm bushings in on his EK upper control arms, no problem.

sorry to hear that brian, i dont know what to say. id say keep on going at that bitch. its gotta eventually give in. i wanna see that **** slammed with those awesome volks.

any machine shop or any garage should have a press layin around, if you take them the LCA and the bushing, they'll throw it in for around $5, if not for free. it took 2 tons of pressure using a hydraulic press to get my bushing in. frozen LCA's are a beotch.

Yah I kno it is a real bitch. I am going to take the lca out and take it to a shop.

So close to having the car done. Yes slammed on volks, so close!! DAMN LCA! This week finish up suspension, next week bodywork.
