car overheating help

Default car overheating help

ok so im driving for 5 min and all my theromastat is all the way full and to the red. i turn the heat on to cool off my engine but only cool air comes in i checked the oil its fine the radiator fluid its fine and i turned off my car to let it sit and fan comes on. and i noticed taht when i tried to go it would bog down

1. let the car run and see if the fans come on. If it starts overheating and the fans dont come on, then its the fans.

2. if the fans do come on, i would replace the thermostat

3. if you replace the thermostat and its still overheating then you worry about head gaskets and water pumps

thats the order i usually troubleshoot in if a car is overheating
