HELP! BROKE DOWN ON ROAD. BURNED OUT 2 GEARS. WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Hey I'm on here helping a friend. He's got a '92 civic that just broke down somewhere between NY and NC. He said he "burned out two gears" and he wants to know what he has to do. Is his transmission shot? Will he be able to get home without a new transmission? If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. Unfortunately for him I'm his only outlet to H-T and I'm more than new to all this. If you can remember that in your responses.
Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure. Is that something I should ask him?

If "burned out two gears" means that he can't get it into two gears, then maybe he has a broken shifter fork. In the top right corner of the screen click on [Search] and do a search for "shifter" and "fork".

Will it go into gear? I don't really get what burned out two gears means... like he can go into first but second and third are gone or something?
