Default O2 sensor for a ZC

I have a question about the O2 sensor for my zc. Well my buddy hooked me up with a aftermarket header. But the O2 bung is on the downpipe right before the collector right. Well what im wanting to know is can i extend the wire on my O2 sensor?? I have heard that the length of the wire on the o2 sensor is what gives it resistance and if it isnt hte same length it will screw things up. Thanks in advance for the help guys.

make sure you correctly strip, solder, and heat shrink all connections. Make the extension wire as short as possible.

I didn't have to extend mine at all. I just spliced the wire harness, since the wire from the o2 runs toward the rear anyways. Pretty simple: cut harness wraping and run wire straight down to bung.

what i should have said was i made an extention wire...took an old o2 sensor clip and an o2 clip from a wiring harness i had, ran wire and solder'd the two together...pretty nice since it can be easily removed...

Did you have to cut the wire? The way I do it involves no wire cutting.
